Welcome Letter

The Parish of Grace Episcopal Church Jamaica

115-24 90th Avenue

Jamaica, New York 11432

Greetings,

Thanks for your consideration of Grace Church Jamaica as your future church home. Our church is a family-friendly community lovingly known as “Grace is the place”. We believe that Grace is the place for all of God’s children to come together as one. Grace Church is seeking a compassionate, spiritual leader whose sermons will inspire varied age groups, coupled with strong administrative skills to lead us in our journey with the teachings of Christ.

Grace Church, founded in 1702, is a New York City Landmark listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was the first church in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island and is the mother church of the Jamaica Deanery. This beautiful gothic style building, along with its landmark cemetery, is located in the southeastern section of Queens. It must be noted that Queens is the most diverse community in the country. Grace Church Jamaica is centrally located in a major transit hub, affording easy access to New York City by subway and buses. It is conveniently accessible to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), as well as to an Air Train to JFK airport.

If you hear God calling you to join our Grace Church family, we welcome your application to become our Rector.

God’s blessings on you and yours,

Glenn Greenidge, Sr. Warden

Lorraine Wills Powell, Warden
